Important Application Tips:
When applying for your visa, it is crucial that all the information you provide matches your passport exactly. This includes your full name as shown on your passport—especially your middle name if it’s listed.
Incorrect information, even a missing middle name, can result in visa rejection or delays at entry. We recommend double-checking your visa, even after it’s approved, to catch any discrepancies that can result in entry rejections.
How to Apply:
To help guide you through the process, we’ve included a helpful YouTube video below that walks you step-by-step through the application process. Be sure to watch it before you begin applying.
Passport Photos:
When applying for your visa, you will need to provide a passport-sized photo that meets specific requirements. We recommend get this photo taken at Walgreens or CVS to obtain a digital copy that can be used for the online visa application. Additionally passport apps for mobile devices can be used to create a digital passport photo but they must meet the following requirements:
Be 4 x 6 cm (standard size of Vietnamese photography) or 2 x 2 inches in .jpg format with maximum file size of 1024Kb
Be taken within the last 6 months
Be clear and in focus, in color and unaltered by computer software
Contain no other objects or people
Be taken against a plain light-coloured background
Be in clear contrast to the background
Have no ‘red eye’
Capture your head, shoulders and upper body
show you with:
facing forwards and looking straight at the camera
a plain expression and your mouth closed
your eyes open and visible
no hair in front of your eyes
no head covering (unless it’s for religious or medical reasons)
nothing covering your face
no shadows on your face or behind you
Below are examples of good passport photos. We recommend removing your glasses for the photo as this is commonly a reason why applications are rejected.
